I'm sorry... but I had to respond to this. :)> Okay, not to offend, but it's
always been beyond me as to why people liked Smashing Pumpkins. Plus, a second
ago, you were bashing Sean Yseult for being "untalented". To me, Billy Corgan
is the most overrated musician in history. He doesn't play guitar half as well
as people say he does. His singing is horrid. And he is nowhere near the
genius he is made out to be.

You don't see where his vocals are weak? I'm afraid I can't help you then...
:)>

My 2 cents. Let the Glenn bashing begin...

Okay. Let's nip this thing in the bud. The reason this sort of thing
"sucks" for so many people on the list is because they are rabid SG
fans, and own everything ever released by them. :)> I heard these
same complaints about the CD+. Well, folks... colour me lame, but I
don't have access to singles. I don't have the stuff from the CD+
(well, under normal circumstances, anyway...). The only reason I have
excellent songs like "Kyle Petty", "Like Suicide (acoustic)",
"Fluttergirl", and others is because of our dear Village Idiot, Jamie
(the most wonderful woman alive... :)>).

Guys... don't be so greedy, alright? It's disheartening.

All I can say is, if I didn't have a copy of "Kyle Petty" and I came
across a copy of "Home Alive", I'd be damn happy it was there.

Thanks for listening to me bitch,
Glenn

Hello! Anyone there?

Listen, whoever just asked what CD boots are recommended b/c he's going
to "our capital city", listen up! Also anyone else who's caught up in
CD boots!

Get to a big city, a big bookstore--look for a publication called
Goldmine. It's called a record/CD collector's newspaper, but in the
back are classified ads. You can find people w/ real tapes of shows.
Some sell reasonably for those who have nothing to trade, alot of
people want trades. I mean real tapes--these things are known by the
city, the venue and the date of the show, not some stupid title
somebody gave the thing when they made the CD. Those CDs are a
rippoff! Too costly for the poor quality on most of them. I know I
can trade for stuff and get just as good, if not better quality!

I've been trading on various bands since 1985, and as far as I'm
concerned, it's the only way to go. I've got 6 pages of PJ stuff, and
3-4 of Sgarden...Sg is the hardest band we've ever tried to collect on,
but it can be done! There's a whole new world out there, folks! This
list needs to tap into it!

Get thee to a copy of Goldmine and check it out, folks! I owe all I am
to that publication! No, seriously, that's how I got started 11 years
ago--someone told me about GM and I took it from there. It's amazing
what you can find!

Anyone interested in a zine about the Seattle music scene? Watch this
list as I'll be posting something soon!

Gotta go! later...deb

I hope the song isnt going to be Kyle Petty because i have that also
and the version on the single I have isnt very good , it sounds like
a demo( i think they produced it themselves), I hope the new self
produced album doesnt sound like that because the live version of
Kyle son Pj's self Pollution radio was ten times better.I dont think
the Pearl Jam song is going to be Eddie solo either because when I
saw them live in November after the show they played the studio
version of Leaving Here(which theyve been playing in concert all year
almost) and said it was going to be on Home Alive. I think your
publication is wrong( Eddie has 2 solo song on the Dead Man Walking

Okay, I didn't want to say it but... he sounds like he's got a clothespin

or the other, I just like singers with a little more power, not to imply

100% better (in my opinion) if they had another singer.

I can't say about primus because I don't know. However, I love white
zombie and I've seen them live enough times to know that rob zombie
doesn't know half of the words to their songs and can barely catch his
breath to sing. He's not the best singer, but that's not the point of the

the original is by devo, and it really is a great song.

the remake that was mentioned is by robert palmer, and it isn't very
good. (if i'm not mistaken, palmer is the man who brought the world
`simply irresistable', if that explains anything)

the remake we all know and love is by some band called soundgarden,

i have a question .. is chris an atheist, a christian, or a devil
worshiper? :) .. i've heard lyrics that hint at all three..

christian : "say hello to heaven" .. his friend's going to heaven he
says, so does that mean he believes in christian theory?
devil: "holy water" .. holy water is rusting him .. is he saying he
believes in the devil?
atheist: "hand of god" .. says "the hand of god lays on your money,"
thus claiming christianity is nothing more than a corporation.

it could go either way..i don't want to pass judgement on his belifs

So does Shannon Hoon. Was he weak also?

Oh god here comes the hate mail. I really don't care one way

No way. No one, except maybe Chris, could put as much emotion into their
vocals as Billy Corgan does. And i don't think Chris would sing songs
like "today" and "zero" for a living. And while i'm talking about SP,
does anyone else think that the song after zero, i think it's called
"here is no why" is about trent reznor?

Which is what i was saying. He knows he can't sing, but he works well
with what he has.

:) now back to soundgarden.

Maybe that's it. Or maybe it's her music.

I guess that answers my question. Are you gonna burst into "Stop this

Oh, i thought that was the average Pearl Jam fan. My fault.

Yeah, and also in that song, "Damn the water if its life you wanna drink"

And how about the whole song "Your Savior"? and also, from tdittl, the

Because it's beautiful music. All the emotion.

Plus, a second

Ummm.......

He doesn't play guitar half as well
> as people say he does.
But he is a master of guitar layering and fitting things together to
bring the song to it's gretest peak. And besides, some of those songs
are hard to play.

His singing is horrid. And he is nowhere near the
> genius he is made out to be.
He is a genius at writing lyrics, give him that at least. But his
singing isn't horrid! Some people think it's wonderful. Who could sing
Pumpkins music better? Who?

> You don't see where his vocals are weak? I'm afraid I can't help you then.
Why not? If you see the weak point, anyone, point me to it!

Haven't we had one of these discussions before? (Offspring/Nirvana thing?)
