So is this a CD? And I guess there is a Louder Than Live Video out? I
heard about it, but then a friend insisted that it didn't exist. The

When i was at the SG/PJ/NY concert in TO SG came out and i said to my
boyfriend "who are these guys?". I was way up in the stands and couldn't
see shit. But as soon as Chris started singing, and Kim and the gang came
out i recognized them immediately. But yah, i was totally freaked out when
i saw that. I was like "he has NO HAIR!" And i agree that Neil Young
totally stole the show. The greatest part of the whole night was when Neil
and Eddie sang Rockin' in the Free World. That is one of my fave songs of
all time too. What a combo they made!

Greetings!

Wanted to offer a few comments to items on the list the past few days.
I'm new to the list--responses welcome.

Loved the comments about Chris being a "recovering catholic!" You
could definitely say that, as Mom Cornell and at leat 5 of the sibs are
no longer catholic--not sure about the 6th and oldest boy. They do
remain spiritual, which is different from religious. Now, about
Kim...okay, who wants to ask him??

Susan Silver would never do anything to rip off the fans. That's just
not what Sgarden is all about. Nor is the selling-out. I've had
dealings w/ a few managements over the years and none compare to SM in
how they treat people, just ordinary people. Some of you may know that
SM and Curtis Mangement used to share offices in Seattle, until Kelly
C. just suddenly pulled out, leaving Susan w/ the lease and AIC along
w/ Sg. KC's office staff leaves alot to be desired. I've spoken to
people in Seattle about this and they either had similar opinions due
to dealings w/ them or were appalled to hear how unprofessionally I and
a friend have been treated by CM. Met everyone at in July 94 and they
were so welcoming and have always been great to us on the phone, etc.

Can't comment on the CDROM yet--haven't found it yet but hope to as an
Xmas gift for my friend. Hearing some of you say you're disappointed
has me worried!

RE: the age thing--some of us are not too far behind the gent who
thinks he's the oldest fan. Heck, neither is Kimster. It's all a
matter of liking something and keeping young by doing and enjoying!

Looking forward to more exchanges. I do this at work, so I can only
respond Mon.-Fri. Anyone else ever deal w/ SM? or Curtis Management?
Who's been to Seattle? Do you love out there? Anyone like any of the
unsigned bands out there? Watch for more postings from me!

WARNING: The end of this message contains some PJ content! Don't read
past the ++++++ if you tend to fire up the ol' flamethrower evey
          time you see them mentioned!

Now that I've got that out of the way, here is the actual SG content first.
Remember over the summer, we were talking about dream match-ups of artists
from different bands (Cornell-Page was favorite)? How about Matt and
Neal Peart on stage together. No one else. I think I'd sell my car to
see that one.

And as long as I'm talking about Matt, I saw a book in a music store the
other day that included music, lyrics, and tabs to JCP. It struck me as
kind of odd that the music was written in 4/4. Excuse me? Now I don't
pretend to know much about music, but to my coarse and untrained ear, JCP
does not appear to be moving in 4/4. Can a more elightened soul help me
out on this one? It would be greatly appreciated.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

O.K., so you read the warning and you're still here? Like I said, no
flames...

Anyway, has anyone heard the new PJ song "I Got ID" (or whatever it's
called)? I've been waiting to hear what they sound like with Jack Irons
on new material, and personally, I am not impressed. Jack is no Dave A,
he's not even Dave K. I really feel that, given one month of practice, I
could probably play as well as what he does on this song. The man really
seems to lack creativity. Everything is just CRASH-CRASH-CRASH-CRASH over
and over again.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well, that's all for now. I'll be unsubscribing soon, and I'll be back
as someone else when the list resumes. I got one of those "I could tell
you what I do, but then I'd have to kill you" jobs like Jamie has, and
I don't know what my e-mail address will be yet.

Have a safe break and a good holiday everyone!

what the hell are you talking about? I SAID I wans't lonely, and I SAId
that it would be cool to sit down with someone from the list. It is my
personal experience that there aren't many female SG fans that I have
met. I have girlfriends at school. I am not a lonely geek who uses the
computer to score dates. On the contrary, I was just trying to make
conversation, and at the time, I happened to be extremely drunk. I am
not the type to lie, so when I said I wasn't lonely, I also wasn't
bullshitting. In the future, if you wish to mail me, please do it about
SG related stuff, not on your pathetic psychoanalysis ego trip. Thank Youuuuu

I have this poster and my friends think Chris looks like a murderer.
Sometimes my friends just need a good slap in the face. This is my

I just got a postcard in the mail: It has both covers of 'Alive...' and
'Songs from the..' on the front, and on the back it tells you a lil bit
about them.. then I noticed something weird: It says in big letters
'AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE 11/21'..... Everywhere, it says, not the US,
EVERYWHERE. So I dunno why everyone in other countries is having an even
HARDER time finding it than everyone HERE, in the US... but I say all
our overseas and Canadian friends should pester all the record store
clerks until they get Alive In The Superunknown!
Another thing: How many people are having trouble getting AITS to work?
I tried it in five computers, and only got it to work in one. ;( I hope
if Daddy buys a new family puter, he buys one that will read the damn

Louder than Love and a medley of Earache My Eye by Cheech and Chong(?)
and Big Bottom by Spinal Tap. At then end it shows the videos for the
two singlwes from that album, Loud Love and Hands All Over. (Those 2
songs are not played live) Louder Than Live and Motorvision are the only
2 videos released by the band.

Yes that theory is ridiculous, and Chris Cornell is a mysterious guy.
Nobody knows what makes him tick. I don't think it was necessarily for
shock value, although it is possible. I think he was just being
playful. or maybe the place where he wanted to sing happened to be on
Everman. Who knows?? I'm sure if you asked Cornell, he would reply
sarcastically, "Yeah, Everman and I were homosexual lovers"...

Hmmm...does anyone know what was up with Chris in "Louder Than Live"
during the song "I Awake"? Why was he molesting that guy from the audience?
 And why was
Jason Everman humping Chris at the end of the song? For a long time after
watching that video, my friends and I had this theory that Chris was gay (or
at least bi). He had married Susan because he wanted a cover up, and that's
why they never had children. And maybe there was a little something more
going on between Chris and Jason than just the music, but it went wrong...
which was a reason that "Jason just did not work out". I realize now of
course that our theory was totally ridiculous, but I've always wondered about
that video. Anyone have an explanation? Were they just doing it for the
shock value? I'm still kinda confused (which is not at all unusual for me).

Subject: Eye--SG import

Hey all,
I just bought an import CD called "Eye". I'm sure a lot of you have
heard of it or have it, but for the rest, I'll give the song list:
        1. Rusty Cage
        2. Jesus Christ Pose (wow!)
        3. Black Hole Sun (I'm not sure if this one is live or not. You can
hear the backround vocals just like in the album version and it's Chris'
voice on both the lead and backup vocals, so it's either being pumped in or
it's from the album)
        4. Little Joe (first time I heard it and I love it)
        5. Searching With My Good Eye Closed (incredible version)
        6. Slaves and Bulldozers (12:00 long--Chris goes into "Alive" and
says something else repeatedly that I can't understand (sounds like "Survive
with talk" but I'm sure that's not it) after an incredible extended guitar
solo near end. Lots of feedback at the end of the song and Chris says
"Thank you. We love you. We'll see you next time.")
        7. Fell on Black Days (once again the question of if it's live or
not is relevant--sounds like dubbed in audience noise throughout the song,
but the drums are so loud it's hard to tell whether or not it's the album
version)
        8. Gun
        9. Superunknown (this is really live)
        10. Big Bottom
        11. The Day I Tried to Live (once again--is it really live? When
you can hear Cornell doing the lead and backup vocals and dubbed in audience
noise it's doubtful)
        12. Room A Thousand Years (CD says Eyes) Wide

Overall, I think it's pretty good. It's too bad it kind of feels like
someone got a hold of Superunknown (album)and dubbed some songs in (with the
exception of Superunknown (song) which is definately live). The sound
quality is good, with only minimal crowd noise (except where mentioned).
Vocals are clear and good. I'm not sure exactly where it's from, the CD
says "Live USA '94". But it sounds good to me. The only problem is that it
cuts off right after each song, so you don't hear any words of wisdom from
the band in between songs. I'd recommend it. I found it at Record Exchange
for $24 on sale. They had a couple others including two copies of "Fresh
Deadly Rarities".

that's kind of a sexist remark, isn't it? it could certainly be taken as
homophobic in some circumstances as well. hypothetically, what if i were
looking for a guy over the internet? of course, i'm not, but
hypothetically, if i were looking for a guy, i think you'd probably do.

Hello to the people that this note pertains to. I'll get you all at once
with this one post.

Here is the exact set list to the CNE show. The one where blues
traveller opened. followed by soundgarden, pearl jam and neil young. A
mini-palooza if you will.

They took to the stage under the drone guitar riff of "Beyond the Wheel".
This is where I was running for my seat. So that's why I thought they
opened with it. Hey two years...that's a lot of brain cells that can
never be replaced.

1. Gun

2. Beyond the Wheel (the exact version that is on some b-sides from
superunknown. I love the part where chris says..."It's precious!")

3. Outshined (the only time of the 4 times I've seen em that they played
this song)

you can hear on the tape someone actually screaming for the band to play
"Holy Water" from badmotorfinger. That guy was too cool.

4. Let me drown

Rusty Cage Intro: boy were people pissed that chris stopped playing the
opening riff...the band then started in with:

5. My Wave

6. Rusty Cage

7. Mailman

8. Jesus Christ Pose (better than the BHS b-side version!)

Hope this joggs at least 5 of your memories...I could never remember what
new songs they played. I always thought they played "kickstand"! Also,
chris doesnt really converse with the audience like in some shows. But,
he does say some nice things about canada. I believe he mentioned that
he was greatful that much music was playing the vid to jesus christ pose,
while those idiots from 'the states' wouldnt dare play it.
