Is there something wrong with my internet connection, or has the traffic
to the list suddenly ceased?

Ok, I got my message from the list, so everything must be functioning
correctly. Is everybody that busy playing the CD+ that they have no time
to write to the list or do anything else? Come on, at least send in some
reviews. What are the videos of. Are they the actual videos of FOBD, My
Wave etc? Details!! I can't get AITS until JANUARY! I might go
insane! I might need therapy, support!! Some please email me to make me
feel better. *:) See ya...

Subject: Nowhere but You

Just a comment... I was fortunate to find and purchase both "Fresh Deadly
Rarities" and "Stolen Prayers" the other day. When I first heard "Nowhere but
You", I thought it was the most depressing song that I had ever heard SG do.
More down than "Mind Riot", especially because of the chord changes, a very
eery feeling to it. Alas, when I read the actual lyrics on the web page, it
seemed to be a semi-hopeful love song!! "When you were here, I thought that I
would never miss you. When you were gone, I felt that I had never lived
here." I realise that love can bring out the depressive side in anyone, but
it was a complete shocker to me when I saw the lyrics,I didn't expect lyrics
like this from them. Possibly because I didn't expect them to be so open
about such a personal emotion as love. It just goes to show how talented they
are in being able to contrast such lyrics against a background of dark,
depressing music. Has anyone else who has heard this song care to elaborate
on it? I loved this song!! "Flutter Girl" was also amazing to me. I have
heard Alice Cooper's version of "Stolen Prayer" but it doesn't do justice to
the song. I remember seeing Alice on "Headbanger's Ball" when he was
promoting "The Last Temptation" and he even acknowledged Chris as being one
of the two best rock vocalists today. According to him, Steven Tyler was the
other one.

okay, flame away, but I need some help. My nephew asked me to print up some
of the guitar tabs for SG as his Christmas gift. He has recently decided that
SG is his favorite group and he wants some help on his ol' guitar. I looked
over some of what I thought would be the "easy" songs, but I'm lost!! I can
read music, usually, but what are some am I missing? Is there some new music
language that I don't comprehend, or have I always been this stupid?! Yes, I
know the general response to that question. For example, the intro to " Black
Hole Sun" according to Daniel Ladle is: Intro
E-----------------I -----------------I-----------------I ------------------I
B-----------------I -----------------I-----------------I ------------------I
G-------5--------I ---------5------I-------5---------I -------4---------I
D-----5-----5----I------5----------I-----3-----3-----I-----2-----------I
A---5---------5--I ---5------------I---3---------3---I---2-------------I
D-5------------5-I -8--------------I-3-------------0-I -2------------0-I
This makes no sense to me!!!
I understand the strings and the tuning, but does that mean that each string
is struck in the fifth fret in the first bar? Okay, I don't expect elementary
guitar lessons, but I would like to be able to help my nephew decipher this.
Thanks for your help. Dana, the musical idiot...

Subject: Chris Cornell... naked?

Heheheh... just wanted to get your attention. Quick question people...
does anyone know what was up with Chris in "Louder Than Live" during the song
"I Awake"? Why was he molesting that guy from the audience? And why was
Jason Everman humping Chris at the end of the song? For a long time after
watching that video, my friends and I had this theory that Chris was gay (or
at least bi). He had married Susan because he wanted a cover up, and that's
why they never had children. And maybe there was a little something more
going on between Chris and Jason than just the music, but it went wrong...
which was a reason that "Jason just did not work out". I realize now of
course that our theory was totally ridiculous, but I've always wondered about
that video. Anyone have an explanation? Were they just doing it for the
shock value? I'm still kinda confused (which is not at all unusual for me).

How about a self titled album? NAAAH, forget I said that. Hmmm. They
like to join words together (BadMotorFinger, SuperUnknown). How about
something like "

Some really heavy downer stuff like 4th of July, some fast speedmetal,
some mellow tunes with suicidal lyrics. And a heartwrenching love song, huh?
Wadayareckon?

Who knows, could be anything. Maybe some techno (Oh, how could I even
think such thoughts)

I think it will be the start of a new musical phenomenon, called
"polished grunge", or "Punge". Bands falling into this category will be
called "Pungent".

um, yeah, OK. What you said.
