Well, first of all, I do agree with you, but "Black Hole Sun" was the number
1 video on MTV in 1994.

Bill,

Check out the music archives at ftp://cs.uwp.edu/ or one of it's mirror sites.
I scanned all the pics from Badmotorfinger and uploaded then to there back
in 1991. They ate BMF*.* I think. In the Soundgarden directory.

Aside from the viciousness of the recent PJ vs. SG debate (which I will
ignore), I've been surprised at how many people 1) assume that SG is
everyone on the list's favorite band and 2) say that if SG is not our
favorite band, we should get off the list. I'm subscribed to 3 different
music lists and I see no reason to limit my musical tastes according to
someone else's narrow definition of a true fan, or whatever. Do people
flame SG as much on the Pearl Jam newsgroup?
Just my $.02,

"Black Hole Sun" wasn't just the number 1 video in 94, but to some
stations it was voted the number song. Maybe this was why they decided
to play this all the time and MTV showed this video all the time. If
this is number one, a lot of people are really not going to pay that much
attention to the "day i tried to live" even though it was a pretty good song.

i look like the almighty himself, or at least a well-kempt ted nugent.
anyway, barry would run circles around emmitt if the lions had two
things. a coach, and an offensive line. the only things keeping them out
of the superbowl are those two things, plus they need like, a secondary,
and they sure as hell don't listen to enough soundgarden. actually, does
anyone think that troy aikman or steve young or anyone like that do
listen to SG? they must. they have to. it's evolution, or something.

I was wondering if the releace datefor the new disc was Nov. 21, cause I
have been asking all the big music stores in the area (Musicland, Best Buy if any of these
sound firmillar). I don't know, maybe it won't be comming to my town, but
I live in Green Bay and it is not all that small of a place. So could
some one fill me in if the 21st is the real date. It would be much
appreciated, cause I really want this album!

Thanks

To All>>>

Having just subscribed to this list I figure I should make a good
impression... Yeah, Right! For all those who bash PJ and vice versa... Grow Up!
This is not a contest to see who's band has bigger balls, can hold onto
their interity and so forth. This is about SOUNDGARDEN, why we like/love
their music, sharing information about the band and other related material.
Music can be a binding experience. If someone can not enjoy what you listen
to, respect that space... you can attract more people with honey than viniger.
Soundgarden fans are kinda like Doors fans, they are almost
religious in their intesity about a group that does not get alot of the
respect it deserves. If you are disapointed by the local air-play (or lack
there of) then organize a request drive. You have the resources here to meet
like minded people and make yourself heard. Oh course you might have to
substitute driving down the street blasting SG at high volume if there is no
decent radio stations in town...

I just really liked and respected Grote's comparison of the two bands. I
love them both... for whichever failings and advantages, both bands are
so fun to listen to and watch develop. His comparison of the two bands
was the most extensive and well put together that I've seen. I feel lame
because I don't put that much thought into my messages (obviously!). :-)

Hi Seth

Just let me (and others on the list) get this straight. Does "the list will
not exist" mean that we can't continue to send messages to it? Or should
everyone just NOT SEND anything until you post a note to the list saying
you're back in action?

As you know I'll be away then myself anyway, but I just thought it'd be
worth you clarifying this for all of us Somms junkies.......
