I think it's called a Mellotron. John Paul Jones was the master of the
Mellotron. The entire "String Section" in Kashmir was John on his Mellotron.

I had one of the most awesome experiences of my life on Friday. O.K., maybe
corny is a better word for it, but it was still really cool...

I've been running myself ragged the past month with work, and school, and
other commitments, so much so that by last Thursday afternoon I had
completely hit the wall. Well, I still had to get up and function for one
more day, so on my way into work Friday morning I popped in BMF, cranked it
to about 16 on the CD player and started singing (if you can call it that)
along with Chris. By the time I got to the end of Jesus Christ Pose (you
know, the poooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh part), I had
myself worked into such a frenzy that every hair on my body was standing on
end, my heart was pounding, and there was a pretty hideous spray of spit on
the windshield. IT WAS THE GREATEST RUSH OF MY LIFE!!!! At that point,
I probably could have torn the steering wheel off my truck and ate it for
breakfast.

Anybody else ever had this kind of reaction to a song or album?

Greg

Yes!!!!!!! That would be an amazing show! Sponge and sg!!! While i've
never seen sg live before, i've seen Sponge twice and they kick major
ass in concert. sg might have to limit sponge's set, though, so the
crowd won't be too terribly tired when the main boys come on stage....

Whenever I listen to soundgarden, I feel as though I know what
Chris is thinking. I become introverted, quite, and a weird mix of
angry/mellow. I really believe alot of their songs are about how greedy
and self-centered everyone is. Be part of the world, you are not the
world. BTW, does anyone think that Superunknown advocates or condemns
control? I am in a self arguement over the last lines. Please list reasons.

HATER: When will they have a new album, or was it a one shot. I was
hoping for something from Ben not unlike Half or Head Down but was
pleasantly suprised. Not the same, but good. Ben happens to be one of
my favorite song writers ever and am hoping he expands his music. Also,
what the hell is that thing inside the Hater discs box. That picture is
hard to figure out.

Most people are so busy trying to control
others they don't control themselves.

i heard the coolest thing on the radio. saturday night candlebox was
playing the palace of auburn hills, here in detroit (where the pistons
play), and sponge was opening up for them. candlebox let them play an
extended set, until like 10:00. i heard it was totally cool too. the
whole thing of letting a band go in its hometown is something i've never
really heard before, and i thought it was really awesome of candlebox to
step down for a minute, even though they were the headlining act. i saw
sponge open for live last year, and sponge only played like six songs. i
thought that was kind of shitty. i will admit that they weren't nearly as
big at the time, having only one single out, but they still played a
great set, and were kind of cut off. seattle bands just rule.

Alright. Say Soundgarden was going to put on an MTV unplugged. I'm
not saying they would, just hypothetically. What songs should they play?
Here's my list:

        1) Fell on Black Days 6) Somewhere
        2) Mind Riot 7)
Like Suicide
        3) Fluttergirl
8) Spoonman
        4) Head Down 9) Gun
        5) Searching With My Good Eye Closed 10) Strawberry Fields Forever

(no one said they had to all
be by Soundgarden!)
What do you think?

Hi everyone!! :)
First off: I apologize if ya all got my last post twice. I don't apologize
often....so....savor this moment!!

Second of all: I bought 2 GREAT books tonight that I thought you might be
interested in. The first is called "Screaming Life" by Charles Peterson. It
is mainly a photo book, but does have quite a bit of text. You might know
Charles from his photos on the Screaming Life ep and Louder Than Love album.
Those photos are also in this book (along with others of Soundgarden). It
also has pics of many Seattle bands: Nirvana, Hole, Mudhoney, Screaming
Trees, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam....blablabla...but the best thing is that
this book also comes with a compilation cd!!! It includes Green River,
Mudhoney, Nirvana, TAD, Screaming Trees, Beat Happening, Seaweed,
Fastbacks...and of course.....Soundgarden!!! (Entering). Great
book....Hardcover....35 bucks.
The other book is called "Loser - The Real Seattle Music Story" and is more
of a historic look at the Seattle music scene. Very informative, lots of
nitty gritty stories. Lots of photos...some are real small though....but all
in all a good book. Softcover $16.95.

Keep it off my wave - Mick

In reference to the following message, is there any way that people who
don't have aol but can get on netscape talk w/ the band? Also, I'm not
sure if any got the message before, but I was wondering if it might be
possible for some intelligent someone to try and transcribe "Smokestack
lightning", "Incessant Mace", and or "Fopp". That would be the coolest
thing.
