I learned something quite interesting the other day; the insert in
single-disc version of _Badmotorfinger_ contains different pictures
than the insert in the two-disc BMF/SOMMS pack. It never even occurred
to me that this would be the case.

Since I have 2 copies of BMF/SOMMS and no copies of just BMF, I don't
have access to the pictures in the standard release. Would someone
with this disc and a scanner be kind enough to scan whatever photos
are in the insert and email them to me for the Web page?

It would be much appreciated, and you would be sure to get all of the
same benefits that other Web page contributors enjoy.

This is quite a good point, renaisance (maybe gothic) painters were
the first to start picturing Jesus like a white, blond guy with
blue/green eyes. If we think on the location where Jesus lived, he
must have had a face more like Kim's.

Where does this rumor come from? If he were really dead, the news
would have said something by now. Can somebody confirm this?

Great subject title!! The biggest problem with soundgarden smoking pot is
getting that harsh stuff that would hurt Chris' voice. If grown men want to
indulge they will. My only complaint would be if it hurt their performances
somehow. Gosh there might be someone on the soundgarden mailing list tokin'

jesus would not have looked more like kim. kim is asian, while jesus was
born in the middle east, but of more european than traditionally viewed
middle eastern or african stock. Jesus' true ancestors would have been
israeli, which come from the same people as iranians, iraqis,
palestinians, israeilis, i.e. the semites, the seven tribes. jesus was
first portrayed in the more popular brown curly hair, goatee, brown eyed,
white skinned look not that long after his death, like around 200 a.d or
something like that, on the shroud of turin, which is the source for most
of the imagery associated with jesus' appearance today. while chris can
be our jesus, kim can be our muhammed. they're both the son of god in
their respective religions. anyway, i still think ted nugent looks more
like jesus than chris. chris is a little bigger physically than i picture
jesus, while uncle ted has that "been living on bread and water for
years" llok to him.

They certainly aren't in the same league as the Black Crowes or Cypress
Hill, in that sense. And I, for one, am _extremely_ glad that Chris
doesn't run around in hemp bell-bottoms.

Kim is NOT asian, he is indian as in the indian subcontinent. Whose
people are quite similar to Arabs in looks, especially Kim because I
thought he was arab for sometime. Iraqi's, israeli's and palestinians
all look similar to kim, and back in those days israeli's and
palestinians came from the same place so they would look the same
anyway. So I think that Jesus would look more like KIm it makes sense
when you think about it, when the europeans adopted christianity they
would not want they're son of god to look like a differrent ethnic
        group.

Muhammad is considered the messenger of god, NOT the son of god in the
islamic religion. We will never know what Muhammad looked like because the
Islamic religion forbade portraits of him. The reasoning behind this was
so that his image would not be altered after his death so one racial group
could feel superior over another. Most of the white supremacist groups in
this country use that altered image of Jesus to "legitimize" they're
    supposed superiority.

Newsflash: The Middle East is part of Asia.

The concensus I have encountered gives little support for a white Jesus
regardless of the shroud of turin. In fact, Jesus and Mohammed probably
had similar physical features. This debate, however, could drag on
endlessly with no agreement considering the scarcity of historical
documentation. I still stand by the Kim = Jesus theory.

Ok, now i'm going to use my exhausted mind to address this Jesus issue.
First of all, maybe all the people around Jesus did look like Kim. But,
science shows that while it is not likely, it is possible for many races
to produse a blonde haired blue eyed individual. This is especially true
for African races. And considering the proximity of Egypt (in Africa) to
the Middle East, i'd say its possible that Jesus had blonde hair and blue
eyes. (So Matt would play the role). But, just because it's *possible*,
doesn't mean it's what exactly occured. And since i know too little
about history to speculate, i'll say that any of sg's current or former
members could resemble Jesus, even Hiro. Well, maybe not
Jason Everman..... but you get the point. -j

the cyberian thing is going to be an orchestral reading of music
by soundgarden, alice in chains and a bunch of other bands I can't rightly

Well, my thoughts on outfits for Halloween would be the following (I'm
avoiding the whole Jesus bit!) :

Chris Cornell - Put on a bit of makeup, keep the hair short and have a
moustache, and he could dress as Saddam Hussein (OK, so his skin needs to be
a bit darker, face plumper etc.etc., but do you get the drift?)
Kim Thayil - he could be Jim Martin (guitarist) from Faith No More - just
put on the two sets of glasses etc.etc. - now, that would be scary!
Ben Shepard - Lurch from the Addams Family
Matt Cameron - Bud from Married with Children

Call me crazy - I've got these mental pictures and they're great!

Yeah, OK, I know that this topic was old several weeks ago, but this
lyric just popped into my head, and it has to be my favorite Seattle
lyric of all time, so here it is:

"the pain of knowing what can never be"

Why, yes, that _is_ Queensryche off of Operation: MindCrime (no, I don't
remember the particular song title, maybe "Eyes of a Stranger"????). It
may be blasphemous to lump Queensryche in with the other Seattle bands.
I know, it was the sort of stuff you used to listen to in high school.
But MindCrime was a damn fine CD. And that particular lyric seemed to
sum my life up pretty well at the time. So that's the what and the why.
