response was that a gatefold LP gives the kids something to sort their
pot on. So if the band _doesn't_ light up, at least they're concerned
about their fans who do.

If she's still alive (and I haven't heard anything to indicate that she

has that certain je ne se quois (pardon my French, I probably didn't

I just bought the new Presidents of the United States of America cd and on
one of the songs called "Naked and Famous", Kim Thayil plays guitar. Just
thought you might want to know that. Oh buy the way Matt Cameron is the
best and most amazing drummer in the world.

My 3 Sound Garden favorate songs are:

1. The Day I tried to live
2. Like Suicide
3. My Wave

I also like any song from Badmotorfinger , Superunknown, and "Your Savior"
of the Temple of the Dog cd. Matt plays some awesome drum fills!

In reply to Jennifer's post that she finally received the 'Soundgarden
Book' after waiting a month from Waldenbooks. Are you referring the the
'Screaming Life' book about the Seattle scene or the 'Soundgarden - New
Metal Crown' biography by Chris Nickson? I have them both and think they
are both good. Screaming Life for the photos and Soundgarden-New Metal
Crown for the in-depth articles. Or do you have a different book/

The Screaming Life book about the Seattle scene is a hardcover 'coffee
table' picture book. I paid $35.00 plus $3.00 shipping from Sub Pop
mailorder. The Soundgarden biography book is a softcover that I
mailordered from BehindtheScreams. It was $14.90 including shipping. They
have an order blank in Rolling Stone or check out their web page. If you
have any other questions let me know.

Being new to this mailing list, I thought I'd break the ice by
listing my own three favourite songs. Sure, it must be redundant by
now, but every Soundgarden fan (freak) has there own list, so I
thought i'd share mine.

And they are....

1. The Day I Tried to Live: Virtually defines the word cathartic.
Excellent guitar, lyrics, vocals. Highlight of superb "Superunknown"
album.

2. Drawing Flies: Don't we all have days were we feel like the
protaganist of this killer tune. Unbeleivable lyrics, and love that
sax!

3. Mind Riot: How can anybody not like this song?

Well, thanks for listening (reading), and, now that I've posted my
first message, I realize, Hey, it's not so bad!!!!!

Thanks for telling me.. I never really figured it was about crack..
But, I was sitting back, and thinking. You know, it makes sense...
Chris has admitted to doing crack when he was a kid, and if you listen

they might not be into any serious drugs, but jim morrison wasn't, janis
joplin wasn't, and they both died because of drugs. they both drank
themselves into the grave. on theo ther hand, you can really see that
kind of death (alcoholic) coming. morrison weighed about 250 pounds when
he died, and joplin looked like she traveled in the trunk of a volkswagen
everywhere. no one in sg really has that kind of health problem. on the
other hand of that, what if they got some bad stuff? what then? they need
drug tasters, kind of like a king's food taster. yeah, cause like, eddie
vedder could try and poison chris because he's a jealous woos. or, or, or
maybe those guys from bon jovi... wait, i'm ranting about bon jovi coming
up with a plan to murder a guy who looks like the son of god. the only
thing they've ever killed is, well, music.
