SG themselves have influences which come out in various ways, eg the opening guitar riff on 'Drown Me Up' is LedZep and also Chris's vocal has an Ozzy 'Paranoid' feel, etc,etc. Anyway, if these people are incensed at U2 using a crumb of 'Spoonman' in the intro to 'Hold Me...', what about the Bowie 'Major Tom' guitar break in the middle? If that's not been put in as a 'sampled' sign of respect I'll eat my CD's. Steve Fisk and Shawn Smith comprise Pigeonhed, for which Kim Thayil plays guitar. It's a rather strange album, but once it finds its way into my CD player, it doesn't often leave for several days. I'd like to hear other people's opinions of this disc. As for vinyl, I'm always on the lookout for Soundgarden stuff.
