I was wondering: Does anyone have a list of all the items that are
available for a MS-Dos based Pc involving Soundgarden. I saw they were
featured in some dumb puzzle game once, but it looked really shitty and I
didn't get it.
*Also, What exactly will the CD+ format of the new album do?
TIA.

When Cornell sings, "No one sings like you anymore," to whom is he referring?

For some reason, John Lennon came to mind the first time I heard it, though

Did either of you people listen beyond the first few seconds (the intro)
of the song? It is completely fucking different to Spoonman!!! Just
'cause a couple of bars sound similar doesn't mean the entire song is a rip
off. U2 don't need to rip off Soundgarden anyway... they're good enough
as they are.

People can be so superficial sometimes.

Subject: Avatar - bands ripping off Soundgarden

Avatar,
I agree that U2 using a similar couple of bars of music does
not constitute a rip off of Spoonman - every band has a range of influences
- - whether they use these influences overtly or with subtlety is their own
choice, and sometimes an obviously derivative riff or sound is used as a
mark of respect.
SG themselves have influences which come out in various ways, eg the opening
guitar riff on 'Drown Me Up' is LedZep and also Chris's vocal has an Ozzy
'Paranoid' feel, etc,etc.
Anyway, if these people are incensed at U2 using a crumb of 'Spoonman' in
the intro to 'Hold Me...', what about the Bowie 'Major Tom' guitar break in
the middle? If that's not been put in as a 'sampled' sign of respect I'll eat
my CD's.

Jamie,
I've been thinking about the old age thing, i.e. now you're in your 30's
you WILL like Simply Red, WetWetWet and Michael Bolton (AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! I've
just come out in hives at the thought) and you WILL wear the unsexiest,
squarest clothes that money can buy - well I'm sorry, but I'd rather top myself
than bow to society's conventions. I'll probably never grow old gracefully, but
do I give a toss?? Naaah!
I quite like the thought of blasting out 'Kickstart' when I'm in the retirement home (wearing black leather bloomers) and annoying the shit out of the young
nurses who'll no doubt be into bleep bleep music. Nice one.
What frightens me at the present is the appearance of many people of the same
vintage as me - I mean, is it something in the drinking water that I'm immune
to? I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather listen to SG looking like
mutton dressed as lamb (or cow as calf??) and be HAPPY, than a BORING OLD
 SOD!!!!!

i would have to argue the fact that just because some young teens have
bad experience, they have more experience. i work at a drug rehab center
where we have 15 year olds that have experience with gangs and drugs and
sex and violence, but without seeing the better half of life, they can't
really compare their experiences, which is really what experience is all
about: gaining wisdom and insight. if a person never learns from their
mistakes, then they really haven't gotten anything out of them, have
they? i think that younger kids, such as myself, are seriously lacking in
experience, which means we might not be able to relate our life
experiences in certain ways. it doesn't mean a younger person couldn't
write a good song. tell me that any ac/dc song couldn't be written by a
drunk 10 year old who watches beavis and butthead.

I have the Australian CD single for "My Wave" with a remix of "Spoonman"
and I also have a 12" etched disk (a 4-track E.P.) with "Big Dumb Sex (dub
version)".
Both of these songs were remixed by Steve Fisk. The remix of "Big Dumb
Sex" is great - absolutely hilarious - and I also really like the remix of
"Spoonman". Does anyone know who Steve Fisk is, how he hooked up with the
band, and if he has remixed any other Soundgarden songs? Also, do any of

Well, I just reviewed them, and it seems to me that they are kinda' about
entrance into heaven. You know, the poor will enter the kingdom of God and
the rich will all go to Hell? Chris is singing to those who have more than he
does, and how when he dies in his lesser life, he will rise up into heaven,
and those who were greater than him will be lesser than him . . . just my
opinion . . .

Steve Fisk and Shawn Smith comprise Pigeonhed, for which Kim Thayil
plays guitar. It's a rather strange album, but once it finds its way
into my CD player, it doesn't often leave for several days. I'd like
to hear other people's opinions of this disc.

As for vinyl, I'm always on the lookout for Soundgarden stuff.
Currently, I have:

	Louder Than Live 12"
	Loud Love 7"
Earache My Eye/Big Bottom bootleg 7"
Loco Mosquito/Incescent Mace bootleg 7" (red vinyl)
Fell On Black Days 7" (picture disc)
Jesus Christ Pose 12" (poster sleeve)

Ah, how I wish I had picked up Badmotorfinger/SOMMS on vinyl when it
was available...
