Subject: Truly 10"

Hey list!

Since all of my fellow 7th floor dorm people couldnt care less about any
hard rock music, (they're all from NYC - And they ALL listen to Rap and R&B)
I feel the need to discuss with "you" my recent musical purchases.

Just got back from Record Theatre, a local record store near the University
that still has SOME vinyl in stock. Like for example, I saw Neil Young's
new album "Mirrorball" for $19.98. I think Bruce Springsteen's Greatest
Hits was on sale for $7.98 on vinyl. Anyway - This was my first time in the
store so I was walking around checking out the cassette/CD singles...and
what do I see...A Truly 10" for "Blue Flame Ford"! What a find! It's a
limited edition 10" that contains 2 non-CD songs!

An aside...I never owned a record player till a couple months ago. I didnt
know what a 7", 10", or 12" vinyl record was. Can you believe it! Your
discography keeper was vinyl illiterate! I love the warmth of the music on
vinyl. I cant wait to hear the new SG album on vinyl! Actually I'd love to
hear all of the albums on vinyl!

Back to the 10":

The cover is a light blue picture of the dashboard of an old Ford with what
looks like a black gage of some sort - superimposed over the other
photo...ie. it looks really cool. The name Truly is in yellow centered on
the top of the cover. The name Blue Flame Ford is right justified just
below Truly. Also at the bottom it says limited edition 10" single.

Enough talk about the artwork...

Track listing:
1. Blue Flame Ford (6:18)
2. Tragic Telepathic (Soul Slasher) (3:34)

B/W

1. Aliens on Alcohol (4:52)
2. Hit Ignition (5:32)

The vinyl itself is half blue...half clear. If there was any red in it...It
would look like one of those Mega-Pop's (the red, white and blue popsicle's).

The song "Aliens on Alcohol" is a Hiro Yamamoto composition. It can be
found on the vinyl version of _Fast Stories...from Kid Coma_ on SUB POP.
Very spacey! "Hit Ignition" is a song that can only be found on the CD-EP
_Leslie's coughing up blood_ also on SUB POP. NOTE: I cant find the CD-EP
or 7" of "Leslie's....". S>P has discontinued selling it. SO...if anyone
see's a copy...get in touch with me. BAck to the song...It reminds me of
Catherine Wheel's "Black Metallic". It also wouldnt be out of place on a
Swervedriver album.

People have mentioned SG's publishing names in this list before. (you make
me sick i make music, walpurgis night music etc.) Well the publishing names
for the 3 member of Truly are:

Space Blanket Music
Desert Inn Music
Soporove Music

Note: anyone know which one is Hiro's?

I love the artwork for the album. The guy's name is Eric Roinestad. Has
anyone heard of him before. I'd love to see more of his work.

Lastly...I was searching through the Used CD's and what did I find:
Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun CD-single from Germany with Like
Suicide(acoustic) and Kickstand (live) in a different digipak package. All
of you are going..yeah, yeah...I got that. Better yet, I've had that for a
while. Well I never bothered to buy it. Why spend 15 bucks on an import
with only 2 unreleased songs on it...when I have both songs already. Well,
I picked it up for $4 bucks! Not a bad find. Now I need part II on CD.

enough ramblin's...anyone else pick up anything interesting?

Please call on us anytime to talk about the music. Where I work, I'm the only
one who love rock music! When someone come into my office, they always make
fun of the music that is playing, my poster/pictures of SG, and my BMP of SG.
I drove one person that was being a big pain in the ass over my love of hard
rock, crazy by recording 3 min. of SG and making it my sound effect for all
function on my PC. We had a meeting plan to test some of his work, and every
time we open or close the windows, or run into an error message - Chris and the
guys would sing their hearts out. Revenge my friend is very sweet.

Um, "Stolen Prayers" is on Supermainstream also. And, well, the subtitle
of the disc says "Rare Studio Recordings: 1987-1992" And i'm pretty sure
Alice Cooper's album wasn't recorded and probably not written during that
time frame. -j

Sounds likw what I did to my roommate last year, I recorded bits off
of Superunknown, Limo Wreck and Fourth of July and linked them to my
PC's windows functions. It frove him crazy for awhile, but then he
decided he wanted to hear the rest of those songs and became a
        soundgarden fan.

its not in 3/4.

Next time, could you ask them do they object to fan taping themselves,

Now, those of you that hate me for constantly bringing up PJ-SG
connections... Prepare to hate me some more. :-)

This is from an interview with Mike McCready in August issue of 20th
Century Guitar (talking about the begginings of PJ):

... And we just seemed to cook at the beggining [referring to Stone].
I asked him, 'Well, do you want to start a band.' and he said yeah. I
broke up my band that day and started looking for singers. The second
one was Eddie. We sent him a demo of music the we - me, Stone, Jeff and
Matt Cameron - had recorded. Just all music. ...

Seems like our stick magician played an important part in the forming
of Pearl Jam. Besides, Stone Gossard said on numerous occasions that MC
was the best drummer he knew, and would always love to play with thim.

Jeff Buckley is a young Bono who can hit hi c . 33 for a ticket is a deal but
as a college student I really don't think I could pay . REM tickets cost 36 .
Instead of rambling on here is my " How I got into SG " story ...

As a senior at Lanier H.S. , I found myself bored a lot of the time so
I would play my Sega untill Alternative nation came on . One night , AN showed
the Black Hole Sun video . Being a conossieur of the grim and macabre , I
enjoyed it and my sister and I went out the next week and got it . I then
played it all the way through and found that Half and TDITTL are the best (
keep in mind that this is my opinion ) songs and are really my theme songs .
The lyrics and actual music are so soothing that I was relaxed from then on .
When SG finally came to Texas and I had the chance to go , I had Academic
Decathalon and had to miss it . However , I swore that the next time I was able
to go to an SG concert , I would go . Now I am in the process of trying to
acquire BMF .

If SG could do a cover of U2 ' s " Somedays " I would most definitely buy it .

In the spirit of innovation , I ask all of you who are on the list to answer a
question for me :

If you had SG living next door to you , how would you react to their
music and their eccentricities if they were not a cool and suave band ?

To my Spanish speaking friends :

Mi nombre es Askairi Williams y yo assisto el Universidad Del Westminster
Colegio . Me encanta SG con la amor de mi madre .

And with this I bid you Adieu .

I saw the picture of the flamethrower and I liked it . I was wondering
if Moon Druid could do it all the time ?

Yes JB is one of the best singers . He goes hi to low to a weird tone . Whoever
wants to buy it I encourage you to because it will be an investment .

Politically TDITTL could be a Democrat who finally got rich and then could not
handle it . After being with the rich Republicans , he found out what he stood
for and he learned that he was a liar . I think CC foresaw the 1994 GOP win and
cleverly put it into this song .

" The day I tried to live ,
I wallowed in the blood and mud with all the other pigs ,
	I learned that I was a liar ... "

Speaking of CD's you should get , go down to Austin , Texas and get a CD by a
band called Retaded Elf . That shit is gold . Overall , check out the
alternative scene in Austin the next time you go .
I agree with Lara SG Online would be Cool .

More or less all of Superunknown is the shit . Here is a list of bands ya'll
should check out :

	Sponge
	Retarded Elf
	The Stone Roses
	James
	Veruca Salt
The Group that sins " molly "
	Portishead
	10,000 Maniacs
	Harry Connick Jr.

I garantee that ya'll will not be dissappointed . The aforementioned bands and
singers have excellent careers ahead of them
