Good question. Don't know him personally but his album is fan-bloody-tastic!
He's is definitely THE singer/songwriter/guitarist that has been missing
from popular music for a long time. Bad news folks. I arrived 15 min. after
tickets went on sale to find that he was sold out AGAIN!! Not to mention
that the promoters are now asking $33. FUCK! I just pray that they will book
another show. Hopefully this time somewhere like the Hordern or Waves (sorry
those who are not in Sydney) where the there is no planned seating and its a
little bigger.
Gotta go cry in by beer,

Subject: 2 cents on Drummers

Yes Matt Cameron is a fanastic drummer. I voted him in ahead of CC in the
super group thing that was running awhile ago. Adam Clayton is also one of
the best. Known as one of the hardest hitters in the businessn his use of
celtic beats and toms is unique. Witness the slow build and excitement the
created by the drumming in "With Or With Out You". Maybe the majority of his
playing is 4/4 but he brings an individual angle to a tired old time
signature.
Other drummers I like:
Brad Wilk - yeah he's pretty cool
Mitch Mitcell - jazz rock acid fusion
Elvin Jones - John Coltrane would not have been the same without him
Terrapi Richmond - Went to school with this guy whose best known work is
                   with DIG
Jimmy Chamberlain - Smashing more than pumpkins
Steven Perkins - Jane' Addiction, Porno For Pyros. Need I say more
Simian Cain - Rollin's Skins man
Lucius Borich - Kevin's son who gave Juice their edge now plays with Hanging
Tree. Maybe the best drummer in Oz. Him or Terrapi. Which
means the best in the world of course! (Flame!!!!)
AND of course Bonszo who gave the kick drum its relevance in rock today.
Lars don't impress me. Nice double kick but it sounds too 'clicky'
and where's the feel!
SEE YA's
RICH.

DOH!!!!!! Major strike out Richard! :P Get this I was devastated last
night as (you won't believe this) two of my three friends lost their
credit card (ie. they cut it up)! Alas my luck was soley on my one
friend. He rang me this morning to tell me the line was constanty
engaged. :P~ So there I was, pretty much accepted I missed out so I
thought I'd visit the ticket booth in town for the hell of it and it
turned out they hadn't sold out contrary to the hype! And just like you
suggested, it's general seating, on a lawn! *JOY* Sorry you didn't get
tix d00d, hang in there. As for me it's a long wait till February for
Jeff and the Big Day Out! (Aussiepalooza heh) Stay frosty! :>

Great minds work alike - yes I have been keeping the responses of the One
Question issue. And yes I was going to send them off to e-mail the band area
on the Official SG Web Page. Unless Seth has a better idea.

I was going to give you all until Monday to get me your question then clean
them up. We and I included my self in that WE, are really bad spellers and we
won't even talk about grammar. I know my grammar teachers would turn over in
their graves if they would read some of my posting. I have always felt that if
your couldn't spell it was a sign of intelligence - yes the village idiot
speaks again. My typing stinks also - this from someone who was the head of
Word Processing for a company of 6,000 people. But being the head gives you
access to staff who can spell and type - only good reason to be in management.

Anyway - send me your One Question by Monday and I will then touch base with
Seth on handling them.

The Rose, I can't believe it, I love that song - to hear Chris sing something
slow and moody like that would be truly great. I love Rick Ashley - people
from England should know his work - there are a few songs of his that would be
great for Chris to do.

You want to know another song I think is really good (please try not to get to

you get pass the idea that it written for a vampire and hear just the words, it
is a wonderful love song. OK, guys so Carolyn and I like romantic music, we

No flames.... With the music I would like them to cover, I have no right to
flame a candle. How about Foxy Lady (hendrix cover) or the ultimate cover
Zep's No Quarter or Stairway to Heaven. One more Smoke on the Water (Deep
Purple).

Has any one out there ever listen to Jon Lord's Sarabande (sp?) album? Zep's
I'm in the mood is on the radio now, that would be a good one for SG to cover.

Well, putting them in a bottle and setting them afloat will probably
get the questions to the band a whole lot faster than emailing
sgkots@aol.com, so I think I may have a better way. Last night, I
spoke with the guy who did all of the graphics for the official Web
page (who was also good enough to provide me with another batch of
images from the European tour, so check them out when you get a
chance), and the phrase "I was over at Silver Management today" keeps
sticking in my mind. Perhaps he'd be willing to deliver the questions
to Susan Silver or the band itself next time he has a meeting there.
I will call him and find out.

By the way, for any of you out there who have helped out with the
lyrics on the unofficial page, your work is currently being put to use
by the official Web people. It seems that instead of doing the lyrics
(which are going to be added soon) for their page from scratch, they
printed out everything from our page and hired an intern to verify
them.

Subject: Responses from SGKOTS

Hello...Vikki here. I have already sent a few messages to the official
Soundgarden Knights of the Soundtable e-mail address. The following are
     responses to my questions.

AS FAR AS ACOUSTIC I DON'T PERSONALLY SEE IT BUT WHO KNOWS, MAYBE SOMEDAY.

OK, YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO I AM AND WHAT AUTHORITY I HAVE TO ANSWER
SOUNDGARDEN'S MAIL? I WORK FOR SUSAN SILVER. THERE IS ONLY ONE OF ME. THE
FANCLUB IS LOCATED IN THE MANAGEMENT OFFICE. THE BAND READS ALOT OF THEIR
MAIL AND GOES ON-LINE OCCASIONALLY. I AM HOWEVER THE RESIDENT BAND
HISTORIAN AND PROBABLY KNOW MORE ABOUT SOUNDGARDEN THAN THE BAND DOES, SO I
     ANSWER ALL THE MAIL. OK?

WHEN LYRICS ARE UNPUBLISHED, IT IS THE BANDS DECISION. IT IS PART OF THEIR
ARTISTIC CONTROL TO NOT SEPARATE THE LYRICS FROM THE MUSIC.

THE VIEW ON BOOTLEGS? THEY ARE NOT ONLY A CREATIVE RIP-OFF OF THE BAND BUT
THE POOR QUALITY OF THE RECORDINGS ARE A MAJOR RIP-OFF TO THE PEOPLE WHO
PAY WAY TOO MUCH MONEY TO BUY THEM. THE BAND FEELS THE FANS DESERVE WAY
     BETTER FOR THEIR CASH.

It's me again, Vikki. Since there is only one person answering ALL of
their mail (MY GOD, what a task!) we must be very patient when waiting for
responses. I hope nobody minds, but I already sent what I felt was the
most difficult question our list has thus far come up with to the official
SGKOTS e-mail address as a test...to see if it is possible to get a
detailed answer to such a complex question. Also, notice that I edited and
shortened the question from its original form. For obvious reasons it is
best to keep questions and comments on the official site SHORT and TO THE
POINT. I will let all of you know when or if we get an answer.

This is the message I sent from us...

This is a 'scenario' question posted to the SG discussion group by a fan
who thought it would be interesting to get each individual band members
unique reply to the following: You and five other people are lounging near
the fireplace in an old mansion way out of town, feeling extremely relaxed
after just consuming a delicious meal. You're in no hurry to go anywhere.
The room is warm and cozy. All you can hear is the fire, the rain and the
wind. So the scene is set. Which five people would you like in this room
with you and what would you talk about?

i'd like to recommend all you soundgarden junkies (affectionate term) to take a
listen at stone free: a tribute to jimi hendrix, particularly the last song,
entitled "hey joe: land of the new rising sun." chris, along with matt and
mike and jeff from pearl jam do an awesome rendition of an already awesome
song. which brings me to my point. i think soundgarden should do a led zep
cover. chris has the ability to sound either bluesy or hard. when he's bluesy,
like on hey joe, his voice sends a shudder up my spine. it's almost orgasmic
(no, don't take that the wrong way.) he can either purr or wail, and it is
easily the sweetest sound i can hear. i think they should cover either black
dog or four sticks. any other suggestions?

I recently purchased a Boot titled "Pearl Jam - Self-Pollution Radio"
(KTS) with the 11th track devoted to a Soundgarden Jam Session. I know the
origin of the collection, but what were the three songs that Soundgarden was
playing. The second song was a different rendition of Fell On Black Days, also
found on A&M German import of the same name (Demo Version, track #4). The
other two were unfamiliar to me, probably because they were really rough. Does
any one else have any info for me?

My Soundgarden experience began with "Badmotorfinger". I bought it just
after
it came out (from Columbia House... hell, it was free, right??? :) ) because
I
liked Rusty Cage and Outshined. I soon added Room a Thousand Years Wide to
these tracks, and listened to it in this manner until the release of
"Superunknown". I bought the album because a local DJ played Mailman as his
song of the week type-thing.
Mailman simply crushed my head. I loved it. I bought "Superunknown". I
listened. I learned my purpose for living. I went back to "Badmotorfinger"
and
listened to the entire album. I hated myself for not realizing what I'd been

missing for over a year. :) I was happy.

God, Soundgarden just rocks!

Okay...I picture him being sort of tall, dark, short hair, very clean
cut...maybe a little 5 o'clock shadow...not too muscular, but not weak
looking. And either contacts or glasses.

Okay, anyone else want me to take the plunge?

As written in the discog's....

Chris cornell wrote 2 songs for alice cooper's album _The last temptation
of alice_. The songs were (Stolen Prayers and Unholy War). Look for the
album in a cut out bin near you. Which translates to the album didnt
recieve any radio or video airplay. which in turn means nobody bought it.

I believe the first sound is of an amplifier when the guitar is beeing
unplugged while it's still on, and the second one is the sound of amp
beeing turned off.

C'mon. The song has a tremendeous hook (Black hole sun, won't you
come...). It gets in your ear and doesn't leave. That's the stuff that
makes a hit song. You can sing, hum or whistle it, the melody is very
recognisable and catchy. DJs picked up on it for that exact reason. They
know a hit song when they hear one.

Well, it's not that unfriendly either (compared to rest of their music).
It's not aggresive, no cuss words, no weird stuff going on... And
besides, both are beautiful songs. :-)

Well, I guess sales prove you wrong. SU _is_ commercial. BHS is one of
the greatest hits of this spring/summer. Those are facts. You can't
dispute that.

Sure. SG is still not widely recognisable as PJ, GD or Live are. But,
they are infinitely more popular than in LTL, UMGOK or even BMF days.

Well, try playing BHS, and see their reactions to it. I bet 45/50 will
start singing the chorus along. See _my_ point?

I guess we'll have to wait for the next album to find out. But, my

Well, just to put an end (hopefully) to this silly business, I am
6'2", ~180lbs, long black hair, brown eyes (no glasses or contacts),
and clean shaven (unless I get really lazy). Oh, and built like a
truck. Just kidding.

If you guys really want to see each other, you can send pictures TO
ME, and I'll be more than happy to put them all on a Web page just for
us, which won't be linked to anything else (except your homepages, if
you want). Nobody else will know about it. It'll be our little secret.
So let me know if this is something that sounds interesting, and the
