eleven is from LA. i saw them open for candlebox about a year and a half
ago. kick ass show. eleven wasn't too bad either, but the crowd wasn't
into them. pretty SASSY.

Now THAT would suck, ya know? I mean, there's a pretty thick line between
horrible drugs and not so bad drugs. Pot and LSD are not so bad drugs.
Everything else is horrible, with more intense degrees of horrible depending
on the drug itself. I hate to see people that are fucked up on
drugs...especially people like Ben.
The bad thing about it is...Matt, Chris, and Kim are not really that screwed
up on drugs. Hiro isn't really, to the best of my knowledge. However, Hiro
left and Ben came, and Ben may not have had the same morals that the original
members would.

Hmmmm, interesting. I actually had the Foo Fighters album on my list of
things to buy..............after Tumbleweed's new one (that will only have
meaning to the Aussies on this list), a Soundgarden old one, the Singles
soundtrack, and of course RHCP's "One Hot Minute".
Good to see there are varied opinions out there! {would be a rather dull
world if we were all the same}.

ANYWAY, I wasn't going to bother responding to Stacy's note even
though I also took offense when I read her last paragraph, but after
seeing DEWGod's response I thought I'd add mine to his (hope you're a
he, DEWGod!! sorry if you're not). Because I'm also not an MTV driven
idiot! (we don't even get
MTV down here btw). Don't put people in categories, Stacy - what
made you think that if any band got a bit more play on MTV most of us
probably would go out & buy their albums???????

I saw a clip for "I'll stick around" on Rage (Aussie late-night music show)
and was quite impressed. Methinks that it is high on my "must purchase" list!
The musical style was similar to Nirvana (for obvious reasons...), but also
suprisingly fresh.

Anyone else have any comments about Foo Fighters?

I have a small comment - why doesn't Dave stand still or at lease do something
else than jumping up and down (video put down). Now don't tell me that it's
the thing to do when your in a band to jump around. I know that! But he just
goes up and down and up and down like he not sure what to do, he just knows he
has to do something for the camera. It looks wrong!

And while we at it - have you all notices that most of the new songs out all
sound like the bands pervious album. Example: Green Days new one sounds just
like doogie, Candlebox sounds just the same, AC/DC new release (even the
video) could be any one of their old stuff. David Bowie now sounds like NIN's
Trend.

I sure hope SG doesn't do this, not our boys, surly not our boys.

Please god almighty not our boys. Please no, actually I picked up
Ultramega Ok the other day. Great stuff there some mild traces of Black
Sabbath in there. It's incredible how much Chris's vocals have improved
since then. I liked them on Ultramega Ok anyway, but I'm not going to be
the one top complain about improvement. Anyway I sincerely doubt that
there next album will sound like there old stuff. Kyle Petty son Of
Richard sounded differrent. I think when we hear the new album we'll know
for sure. Because none of there b-sides sound like they belong to any
particular album period they just sound like soundgarden. So I'm not going
    to worry.
        Clowm With Bazooka
P.S. the version of Beyond the Wheel is incredible on Ultramega, and to
think the live version on the UltramegaUnknown Bootleg is even better. I
don't think our boys will ever let us down.

HERB (Tim Alexander) was also featured on the cover of Modern Drummer
about 2 years ago. In the article he listed one of his influences as
Matt Cameron. Tim has worked with a few other bands and put out some
percussive stuff (ie marimba, xylo, etc). Does anyone know of any solo
albums or other work that Matt has done?

Of course AC/DC sounds the same- there's no other band like them and they
don't tend to change their music!

They are 2 great compilation videos...with just about everything SG has ever

I've been playing drums for a long long long time. I think jazz is the
coolest drum music to listen to, but as far as rock goes Matt & Co. run
the show. Jesus Christ Pose might sound hard when you listen to it, but
if you saw the drum music it's really not that tough. BUT THAT'S NOT TO
SAY IT'S NOT COOL AS HELL!!! I love playing along to that song. Once you
learn the drum track you'll NEVER forget it. SG rocks because they're so

Let me just tell everrybody that i agree with those who have said earlier
to go out and buy the foofighters cd, it is great. Dave Grohl is a great
all around musician and it is shown here. He sings, plays drums, guitar
and bass on the album and all of the songs where written by him.
Naturally the music is greatly influenced by nirvana, but it is more
along the lines of nevermind, as compared to the harder, less mainstream
albums.
Oh yeah and everyone stop mocking dave in the video he is new at heading
a band and is going to be awkward at first, cmon he has been sitting
behind the drums since he was in his teens.
Anyway the foofighters album should be bought by all, unless you only had
enough money for one album because them i would tell you to buy a
soundgarcden album!

Being a drummer of 10 years, I must agree. Although, Herb tears shit up
and so does Danny Carey of Primus and Tool, respectively. Matt is just
an original, solid sounding drummer who hits the skins like a damn
caveman. When they opened with Jesus Christ Pose in Berkekley, I
creamed. And yes, Steve Gadd is the master. My uncle is buddies with
him, he told me they used to call him Steve God. hmmmmm....anyways, it
would be cool to hear from more drummers and other musicians on this
list, too.
