Fellow Soundgarden fans,
Just wondering where the heck anyone is. Are there many members
or this a new list? I was in Mexico for a while, and there I purchased
Lolopalooza 92, Soundgarden live. Anyone heard of it? Is it rare? Some
conversation starters . . .

Well...I think that it's a song about when you put someone down so low, they
usually hang in your mind. Like, if you totally sent me hate mail and
insulted me, you'd probably never forget it.
"hello, don't you know me? I'm the dirt beneath your feet."
Is like, "Hey, asshole. Remember me? They guy you insulted."
"But I'm riding you all the way!"
Is sort of saying..."You'll never forget me, and I'll never forgive you."

You think THAT'S tough, try to keep the rhythm of Jesus Christ Pose. DANG!!!
I tried it over at a friends house, and I made a fool of myself. Even he had
troubles doing it (he did it, though, and got it down pretty damned good by
the end) I just stuck to screaming and singing.

I agree with ya, Vikki. NOT using the word is just fine. If you woulda said
Fuck, great we wouldn't have paid much attention, but with Raitz's little
"I'm a christian and I say fuck" thing, that's rediculous. Grow up, Raitz.

> Can you believe the shit they play in nightclubs these days?

Nope, and I hate it at parties too. Friend of mine ONLY played that crap. I
brought over my collection, and he said "For god's sake!! People are gonna
trash the place!!" well, he was wrong. People were really mellow and had a
lot of fun, amidst every single Soundgarden album.
"Nice music, Freddie, where'd ya get it? It's a lot better than that dance
crap you always play!!" I just kinda grinned when I heard this.

ALSO....I hate parties on a large scale where the DJs only play that crap. I
said to one, "Play Jesus Christ Pose." and he was like, "Huh?" and I said
"Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger." he said...."Uhhhhhh....nope. Are they rap, or
R&B?" I replied, "Neither, they're metal." and he said, "Oh man, you can't
dance to that!! It's all screaming and hype!! Listen to the funky beat of all
this beautiful music."
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............no.

Well.....I think it's about dumbasses behind the wheel that SHOULDN'T be

"BACK THE FUCK UP!!!" like........three times.

I was in Mexico and I picked up a Soundgarden disc called "Lolopalooza
92", eight tracks:
Face Pollution
Outshined
Gun
Jesus Christ Pose
Cop Killer
Hands all over
Rusty cage
slaves and Bulldozers

Is this a bootleg, rare album or what?

It's a bootleg. You'll notice that the sound isnt very good. If you
listen closely you'll find out that the bootleg isnt from the chicago
lollapalooza like the cover says. But it's actually from the phoenix, AZ
lolla date.

if anyone has the exact date of the phoenix show...please email me.

lastly, you dont have to go to mexico to buy this boot. You can find it
at any cool record store.

Everyone,
My theme songs would be Either Fresh Tendrils Or Fourth Of July. Fresh
Tendrills because I agree with Moon Druids whole you need me to survive
idea and it reminds me of a ex-girlfriend but we won't get in to that.
Fourth of July because sometimes I think that no matter how obvious
something is only I seem to know whats going on. "Everywhere no one cares
the fire is spreading, no one wants to speak about it" You what know
something fucked up? I cannot type the verses for that song straight
through I always pause for the music in between. Like I type the first
part then I played the guitar part in my head then I typed the second
part. I either listen to that song to much, or the wreck that is my brain
is definitely going down. Oh well

Well, i'm kickin' it here at CU in boulder, CO. unfortunately there is a
shortage of soundgarden fans, and a surplus of frat/SOHO bullshit. so all
i can do is drink the DEW, play the music and jam to Chris and friends.

by the way, just just watched singles again last night. isn't it just
damn cool when Chris walks out and hangs on the curb when the car is
getting boomed to the ground by CITIZEN DICK?!

Isn't mailman a song about some mailman that has a nervous breakdown/gets
fired and goes on a shooting spree? Didn't that happen a few years ago in
the US?

Chris,
You are correct, Mailman is indeed about a Mailman that goes insane and
goes on a shooting spree after he is fired. I believe the mailman in
question is from the washington state area. I think they executed him
after he was caught, because Chris said during a concert in the seattle
are that he was sorry they killed him. I live in washington and I remember
hearing something about it in the news, but I cannot remember quite what.

I would just like to take a second to let everyone out there know that I
think Soundgarden (aka Chris Cornell) is the best band with the most talent
and musical genious out there today. And I would also like to add the fact
they are up for the title of band of the 90's.. I like this idea a whole lot
myself.. I also can not wait for there newest CD.. hopefully it will be out
by christmas.. Does anyone know where I can find SOMMS? I would like to add
that to my ever-growing collection of SG stuff..

They made 100,000 copies of Somms as a bonus disc to Badmotorfinger.
They are SCARCE, since we all want a copy. There are some out there, it
will take some supersleuthing.

What do you mean Soundgarden(aka Chris Cornell?) Don't forget Matt, Chris
and Ben. The whole band wrote Jesus Christ Pose, without the rest of the
guys we would not have songs like: Mailman, Limo Wreck, New Damage, Slaves
and Bulldozers, Fresh Tendrills, Head Down, My Wave, Track 6 on
Motorfinger(can't remember right now), Get On the snake, Room a thousand
Years Wide, I'm falling asleep so thats enough. The point is although
Chris Cornell writes a Majority of Soundgardens material, they still would
not be Soundgarden without the rest of the guy's songwriting talents and
Musical skills. Soundgarden without Matt, Kim and Ben. God Forbid!!!!!

I disagree with Kate's conclusion that it's justified for members of SG
to have tantrums on their fans. I have been to a few SG concerts, most
recently one in NY, where Ben Sheperd seemed to be deeply disturbed
about.....something. During the show, he stopped playing bass and
started spitting and yelling into the Most pit, he kicked one of the
techs. off the stage after they attempted to plug his bass back in.
From my observation he seemed to be on drugs......horrible drugs.
