FUCK ME!!!!! (not literally, of course. Well, unless your.......)
Anyway, I'm sorry I even took a giant shit on Pearl Jam and shoved
Eddie's nose in it. I didn't mean to come across as a PJ hater - I meant
to come across as an Eddie hater. The band is great (I love them on
Mirror Ball), and I would probably buy one of their albums if they kicked
eddie out of the band.
I meant the Anti-PJ post as a post to stop all this talk about PJ
on the Soundgarden list (and look at me, I'm making another fucking PJ post).
I'm sure if I made numerous posts about The Black Crowes on this list, most
of you would flame my ass. So, I won't mention PJ again, unless one of
you fuckers say how great you think they are (just kidding).

Dear all,
I would just like to say that one of the reasons I joined this mailing
list was (as well as conversing and discussing soundgarden) to discover
what other musical interests and dislikes people have. Not so they can
mindlessly trash any band without giving a reason why they don't like them.

Sorry to those of you who gave a reasonable reason for not liking a band

Dear Carolyn,
I own the singles soundtrack and you really ought to get it
'cos the track by Soundgarden is fucking excellent and the one by Chris
Cornell on himself also kicks ass, I haven't got their names at the moment
but I can find them out if you want. There are also some good tracks by
Pearl Jam and various others so generally it's a good buy.

Singles soundtrack does rip :) it is awesome :) The Soundgarden song is
'Birth Ritual' which is on the 'My Wave' single in demo form. There or the
singles soundtrack are the only places get it. Can't remember what chris
sings other then it is awesome :) I love the movie too...even the short
version of spoonman that is played in it (alot of ppl running back to videos
to find that know I bet :) It is definatly worth the buy!

There is no comparing Chris and Eddie - Eddie writes in the first person, Chris
covers all the strange souls out there.

I'm a long time Led Zeppelin fan (I have seen them perform live - the original
group not this Plant/Page trip). I have all most all their records and
bootlegs, lyrics was not Zeppelins strong point. Plant wrote mostly about
never never land and SciFi fantasy (The Lord of the Rings). To say Chris can
write better than Plant is an understatement.

Drummers and Bass players never get allot of talk. Ben gets some because he's
the new boy and has the - is he better than Hiro shit to deal with. Matt
according to most reports is the most normal member of the group - how can a
member of a rock group be normal? Oh, well I agree he is talented and adds a
great deal to the SG lineup. To take Ben and Matt away from SG, would be like
cutting off a man's legs then asking him to dance.

Vikki-I tape the Grammy Awards every year...Soundgarden wasn't on the
televised broadcast...(I had read several articles about Chris commenting on
what it was like being on t.v., accepting an award at the Grammys...so I went
back and reviewed the whole tape...no mention of Soundgarden). I checked
with someone who makes SG Compilation Videos
(she has everything they've ever done...interviews, videos, awards, etc.) and
she told me that they were given their award at a ceremony BEFORE the
televised broadcast...so we never actually got to see them accepting the
award! By the way, does anyone know if, or when, MTV's 120 MINUTES will be
rerunning the show they did on the Reading Festival on Sunday
of Labor Day weekend?! Please E-mail me if you have any info...thanks!

Well I now qualify for the Physic Friends Network. Because I saw last year
Grammy Awards and I saw SG receive their awards. Chris thank his wife and
mother-in-law. Matt thank his mother for putting up with his drum practices.
Chris also made a comment about now being called a Heavy Metal band. I'm
either tuned into the (super)unknow or my TV really has good reception. VH1
(give them a break they have improved a little) also did a quick interview with
Kim and Chris. Kim was downing his usual beer and Chris introduced his mother.

Yeah, Chris Cornell Does his own kinda "solo" thing. I heard that the song
was actually supposed to be a joke, but it turned out kinda half-decent.
Pearl Jam has two songs on there (I don't give a fuck if the people out
there hate them, they sound good to me, and they're up there with
Soundgarden IMHO) Mudhoney has one on there, as well as Alice and Chains,
Mother Love Bone, Smashing Pumpkins ("Drown" is pretty cool, again IMHO),
and Soundgarden has the best song on there, "Birth Ritual". Chris really
extends those vocals for this song, and it's got a great pace.

Blind Dog,
I read that chris cornell interview also, I remember him saying something
about how it would be really cool to see a bunch on Limos smashed together
and burning on the side of the highway, because people don't realize that
just because they or people they see are in a limo/rich
doesn't mean that they are not just as suceptible to death by car accidents,
earthquakes and drive by shootings. That we are just people with the same
vulnerabilities. Hence my analysis on the belief in false idols/people in
power/celbrities. "Swallowing rivers belongs to the sea, when the whole thing
washes way don't run to me" However I agree with you totally on your idea of
the world order crashing down. I just think my analysis is just another facet
of that. I wonder does chris really think the wreck is going down and is
trying to tell us something? Does he know something we don't?

I happen to have this on CD, GET IT! It has a lot of good music on it,
including a powerful CC screamer Birth Ritual, and a somber Seasons.
Also PJ (yeesh!), Mudhoney, AIC (Would?), and others. A good album to
buy just to get all the Seattle scene on one disc. Highly Recommended.

Just wanted to let everyone know that 'Melody Maker' (kindof a
cross between a magazine and a newspaper) has a Soundgarden article.
Actually, they are the cover story. There is a huge picture of the band on
the front and more pictures in the article. Also included is a cassette
with Kickstand Live (also features Bjork, Stereolab, The Bluetones, The Boo
Radleys, Teenage Fanclub and Heavy Stereo) on it. The article and cassette
are in conjunction with the Reading Festival in Europe. The magazine and
disk are only $3.75 U.S. From what I can tell this is a European magazine.
I have never seen it before. I picked it up at a local chain store in

Here's mine: AWESOME! Simpy the best soundtrack album ever. Each and
every song and band featured are worth further examination (OK, maybe
except for Heart... :-)). You can use the track information as a
shoppinglist next time you go to a record store, you won't be sorry,
guaranteed. Soundgarden are featured with Birth Ritual (great song,
although some might find it too heavy) and Chris' solo acoustic song,
Seasons (incredible song). Other bands featured are Pearl Jam (State Of
Love And Trust and Breath, some of their best songs ever!), Paul
Westerberg (formerly from The Replacements, a cult punk band), Mother
Love Bone, Mudhoney, Jimi Hendrix, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins
and Lovemongers (actually those sisters from Heart).

Get it by any and all means (legal or otherwise! :))...

Truly is the band that features ex-soundgarden bassist hiro yamamoto and
ex-screaming trees drummer mark pickerel. Their sound can be described as
pink floyd meeting early soundgarden. And I'm talking about syd barret
style Pfloyd. They just released a phenominal album "fast stories..from kid
coma".

I'm dying to see them! But they arent coming close to buffalo.

check em out. it might be a long time before they tour again.

Hey, all you soundgardeners there (hmmm...sounds like a bunch of
horticulturists) was just gonna ask anyone of you out there...when will
SG go and have a concert here in the Philippines. PJ was here last year
and I watched it... (real great) but, what would be real great was if, i
repeat, if Chris and Co. came here..WHOA!!! that would be a real treat to
all of us Soundgarden fans here... if the PJ concert here was full
packed...I think we're going to need two football fields to accommodate
all the fans craving for SG music...

btw, i just love limo wreck, how chris' voice screeches at every peak
(whooo!) and the music, real cool..just hits you at the right spot..
and of course there's 4th of july which has real cool bass lines....

" i thought i was the only one, but that was just a lie,
cause i heard it in the wind and i saw it in the sky
and i thought it was the end...thought it was the ...

p.s.
anyone know where i can get a cd or tape of SG's Louder than Love?

What do you guys think "Beyond the Wheel" is about? I think it's about
subscribing to a SG mailing list only to see a lot of posts about PJ and
then going crazy. Actually, I'm just kidding (had to fit that in
somewhere). I think it's really about a bad acid trip. Chris gives this
song a warm & fuzzy feeling when he sings "Stairway to Heaven" through
a megaphone during that evil guitar intro on the "Crown of Thorns" boot.
Don't believe me? Take a closer listen. And if you play it BACKWARDS.....

The Meter Man

P.S.--Dave was definitely the coolest member of PJ. Then they fired him!

of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it."
