I'm looking to trade for some soundgarden or AIC boots. I have about 10
Black Crowes' live shows/boots. Most of you probably don't like the
Crowes, but if any of you do, and you have some stuff you want to trade,
please email me personally. Thanks.

Hey, the people in Black Hole are reality and most of them were not hiding.
Wash away the rain and being suck into the black hole sun, mean our present day
realities need a big change. There were no secrets to uncover. To try to give
a meaning to this song depends on where you stand (far left or right) and what
you see as normal.

I believe the SG lads see the normal world (people in the video) being the way
it is. As ugly as it is and no matter how much we (people who don't fit in
this type world) would like it to change, baby it not goin ta - so get on with.

Just a message to all fellow PJ and SG fans out there-
"Grunge" is fastly fading in popularity, thank god.
The original, truely great music from Seattle is giving
way to lightweights such as Bush and Better than Ezra.
I have no qualms about admitting I love Pearl Jam's Vs.-
Musically, the cross between funk, punk and their own entire
style has to make it one of my favorite albums of the last
couple of years. All of Soundgarden's I love as well.
Thankfully, all the chirpie jocks, dense co-workers
who follow every trend, no matter how stupid it sounds, hey
guys, when's Deadeye Dick's new one supposed to come out!-will
fall off the PJ and SG bus. It's just going to take some time.
Keep loving what you love. Because in 15 years, when retero-grunge
clubs start popping up, you can say "Piss off, I always liked
Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, even when it was
not hip".

Being a Soundgarden list I won't go on too much:-).

I get the impression that some of you guys take this Pearl Jam bashing
pretty
seriously. I mean, to go out of your way to really trash a band, in my
opinion, is destructive (not to mention pretty stupid). Call yourselves
music
lovers? To dislike a bands music is fine. To attack band members and fans is
childish and pathetic.
A lot of people love Pearl Jam. Does that mean people who like Pearl Jam
don't know anything about good music? Does their opinion count? Or is your
opinion the only one that matters?

Grow up.

5 months ago. They are real cool. Matt Cameron and Ben Sheppard from
Soundgarden are phenominal on this CD. I look forward to their next

Louder Than Love Tour. My friend bought me a Soundaren Total Fucking

recently if anyone is familiar with the area, I was on California Avenue
eating in a Mexican restaurant by Husky Ice Cream about 6 months ago. I
had to go to the bathroom, as i was leaving the bathroom I looked
straight ahead at a table and their was Chris Cornell having dinneer with
some guy in a baseball hat. I rushed back to the table and told my friend
to look about 15 feet to your left. She freaked out. I wanted to do
something or say hello to him and thanks for the great music but that
would be uncool because he was eating dinner. So I called the waiter over
and told him to buy that guy over their a drink from me. The waiter had
no idea who Chris Cornell is. Nevertheless, Chris ordered himself a
regular margarita on the rocks.I thought that was at least i could do
because he is a cool guy. As he left he kinda looked over but i don't
think he knew i was the one that bought him his margarita.Anyways thats

I think this is well put - this is happening on a few mailing lists that I'm
proud to be part of. The Faith No More list was just recently starting to
bash around Green Day and other bands that are relatively new to the
majority of people. I would like to put forward the following:

1. Don't bag people because of their tastes/hobbies/history etc. This is for
several reasons; first, it can actually hurt a person for the whom their
music etc. means a lot; and secondly, no-one benefits. Try something more
constructive: Rather than saying [insert appropriate item] sux, try saying
something positive: the [some obscure bootleg title] is really good to get
etc.etc.

2. People have different tastes for different reasons: Some people are happy
with music that has lyrics that mean nothing and are barely more than two
chords strung together - if that's the case, then good on them. Me
personally, lyrics don't mean too much: I look for complexity and interest
in music, but I'll still take AC/DC all night long!

3. Don't worry about it - it's only music! Like what you want to like!

Give it some thought!

I think all of them are truly great, and I'm really not ashamed to say
it. PJ bashers don't intimidate me. Just because it's a cool thing to
hate PJ, I won't stop listening to their music. No matter what the
bashers say (and so far, they haven't brought a single piece of actual
argument), PJ _is_ one of the best, true to the music rock bands out
there.

And says (after the audience sings the song with him): 'I think Chris
would really like this... I'll say hello to him for ya...', or seomthing
to that effect. They are friends... PJ & SG members actually made a
record together, or did you PJ bashers forgot that? You're actually
insulting SG's friends.

Well, that's only because Andy Wood died. If he was alive, I would be
willing to bet my life that they would be bigger than G'N'R, and you
would be flamed to death for even mentioning MLB here. Andy was really
enjoying beeing a rock star, having fans, beeing famous. He was a real
Freddie Mercury type of person. Flamboyant, flashy and in_your_face
frontman. To bad for him, he didn't manage to live to enjoy it fully.

Hello Mr Unknown (good name) -
Welcome to the list. I wrote on Monday that I'd been listening to Limo
Wreck in my car before dawn & it sounded very eerie, well 4th of July was
another one like that. Overpowering is a good word - it almost makes you
shudder, doesn't it?
Superunknown has great lyrics. I especially love the last bit where Chris
sings "first it steals your mind & then it steals your soul" - he sounds so
woeful, haunted. What do people on this list think it's about? Well,
perhaps I shouldn't ask that - because only the lyricist knows what it was
actually written about (if anything) - maybe i should just ask you what does
it mean to you??
I'd be interested in feedback.
Cheers ~
Carolyn.

ps: I'm not upset at the remarks made (as i told Clown i don't reckon it's
a sin to hate any band). And i never thought of music freak standing for
mother fucker!! hmmm, you've started me thinking now.................

Mr Unknown,

I'm a huge Soundgarden fan. I'm also a huge Pearl Jam fan, and a fan other
many others bands. If somebody comes out and trashes a band and their fans
for no other reason than because they don't like them, is wrong, so I'm going
to respond. I have no time for ignorant jerks who say these kinds of things.

Just my 2 cents worth and I'll say no more.

Pete.

I think I must be going senile. I remember subscribing to a Soundgarden
mailing list but my box is being flooded with Pearl Jam fluff. I don't
mean to be rude (and I'm sure that some of you will tell me to f___ off),
but let's get back to the greatest band in the last quarter of a century!

I am a Soundgarden Fan that loves thier music, and I respect them as
people and as artists, because they are true to thier music. Howver I am
not going to compramise myself by liking everything soundgarden likes I
don't have to like thier friends, clothes, movies, favorite soft drinks
etc etc. what do you think I am some kind of top 40 mindless mtv sheep?!!!

I disagree PJ doesn't even have the body of work that soundgarden does,
secondly who wrote temple of the dog? I believe it was chris. Third
Soundgarden would be my favorite band even if Chris didn't write most of
the music. Say he wrote words and matt and kim and ben wrote the music.
Anythin a member of soundgarden is involved in is turns out to be
    incredible thats talent.

Hell they should be the first band to bring out a triple CD album. With
40 songs, including old B-sides, pluss solos by each band member at the end
plus a free ham with every album.

I'd kill myself if Soundgarden ever came out with a b-sides album.
They've been too damn hard to find as is. Anyone else agree?

I haven't seen the movie, but one of my mates back in my old highschool days
almost a decade ago used to RAVE about it! It was his favourite movie of
all time.
So is there actually a soundtrack to it??

Also, can anyone tell me if they've heard the soundtrack to 'Singles'? I
know Soundgarden (or at least Chris on his own) sings a song on it - also
Mudhoney & Pearl Jam (eeek is that a hoodoo word on this list at the
moment??). If you've heard the soundtrack, give me your opinion of it, please!

it would be alright if they did it in another five or six years.
but not now. it would mean all those bsides that everyone has collected
wouldn't be anything special. I know I'm proud of the bsides I've got.
they just wouldn't be the same if you could just walk into a music store
and buy a whole album of them.
