definately badmotorfinger. Louder than love is good, but it just lacks
the creativity of the music on badmotorfinger

Hi, saw this article in Thursday, USA Today newspaper. Thought that I
would share it with everyone on the list. Sorry it's such a long article.
"Soundgarden's Cyber-Show. Fans can see European tour on-line.
Soundgarden is offering U.S. fans a digital ticket to Europe.
The recording artists, whose Superunknown has sold 5 million copies since
spring, started a European jaunt Wed. in Dublin, Ireland.
Those who can't make the show can still get its flavor; the band plans to
document activities using two digital cameras, an array of computers and a
creative crew.
Photos will be digitally captured, captioned and posted hours after each
European show to the Soundgarden Internet site
(http://Rocktopolis.com/Soundgarden) and to a Soundgarden section on the
new Microsoft Network (access GO MSMUSIC).
The MSN site will have a pointer to the Internet site, which also includes
fan club information, band data and teasers about upcoming projects.
Besides pictures of the European performances, Soundgarden plans to hold a
camera on each audience to get shots for the sites.
Micole Mitskog, product manager at Microsoft, says the Soundgarden site
will be up on MSN "at least six months to a year. It will probably evolve
and will complement their Internet site."
Soundgarden is also working with Microsoft on a music-plus-multimedia CD
Plus, Alive in the Superunknown, set for October release.
In addition, a Microsoft CD Plus demonstration disc, including a track from
Soundgarden, will be bundled with new computers containing Windows 95,
beginning this week. The CD Plus compilation will not be available on
off-the-shelf copies of the operating system software."
Now that you have all seen the article if anyone gets access to the
demonstration disc with their new computer system or joins the Microsoft
network please share with us. Thanks.

yes, it does seems like a strange contrast to have a cold sun. You could
have a bright sun on a cold day, but the sun itself is usually thought of as
a warm object. I decided that this deserved a new catagory. Not
contradictions, but:

WIERD WEATHER/CELESTIAL PHENOMINA
Black hole sun
boiling heat/summer stench/neath the black/the sky looks dead
under the shelf/the shelf of the sky/two eyes, two suns
naked in the cold sun
he walks in the cold sun and wind
steal the warm wind tired friend
sunspots have faded
shower in the dark day
too cold to start a fire
it's gonna be too dark to sleep again

SKELETONS/FLESH/BLOOD
Stretch the bones over my skin/stretch the skin over my head
skin of the mothers
with a broken neck lay my broken gift
with eyes of blood
drop the blade/and watch the rolling heads
I wallowed in the blood and mud with/all the other pigs
all my friends are skeletons/beat the rhythm with their bones
I'm numb as rigor mortis
I sharpened my wits on a dead man's skull
I built an elevator from his bones
Holy devil in the flesh
the blood is on the table

DEATH/SUICIDE
it's been death since I was born

Well, I guess the cat's out of the bag. I've known that this was going
to happen for while now, but didn't tell everyone because I wasn't
sure when. The guy who is somewhat in charge of this project had
assured me that I would be kept up to date about these things and that
I would have a part in the official page, and perhaps even get the
live feeds from the tour for my page. Naturally, he never called me
back, so this is as much news to me as it is to you, and while it
probably exceites you, it really pisses me off. Sorry about the
ranting, but I hate when people make empty promises.

Since I'm sure everyone will be checking out this site, there is a typo
above: "Rocktopolis" should be "Rocktropolis"

It really is a beautiful site; I wish I had the resources to make my
page look like that. Now it's only a matter of time before I remove it
altogether.

Subject: Soundgarden Guitar Tab

If you look at sites which have guitar tablature (mind you, I'm not a
guitarist, but I can try and convert the riffs to keyboards!) I notice that
the guitar is often required to be tuned to some, well, let's just say
unconventional tunings according to the tablature.

Stuff like
- --> Superunknown, Flower, Jesus Christ Pose, Let Me Drown etc. etc. (Dropped
D tuning - OK, so this is a standard guitar tuning apart from EADGBE)
- --> MY WAVE Tuning(low to high:E,E(down),B(down),B(up),B,B(down))
- --> Head Down (tuning (low to high) : CACGCE)
- --> Mailman (Tuning(low to high:C,G,D,G,B,E))
- --> Seasons (tuning low to high FCFACF)

What I'd like to know is, does Kim Thayil change his tunings in between
songs when playing live or is he just so good that he works around these
tunings - or are these tunings are load of garbage and Kim has this ultra
special tuning which covers all songs? Or something else I've missed?

All replies and thoughts welcome!- 'cos I've never seen Soundgarden live!

Jackhammer.
