Welcome to the Soundgarden Mailing List! Hopefully, you'll have
things you want to discuss with other people who are into the group,
and vice versa, so this will be a reasonably well-trafficked,
informative list.

Keep in mind that the last Soundgarden list that was started only
lasted ONE article and then died. Please don't let that happen.

Some things you should know:

1. To send email to the list, send it to somms@mit.edu.

2. I am the list administrator (I suppose), so all subscribe and
unsubscribe requests should be directed to me, saperl@mit.edu.

3. This list is unmoderated; anything you send to somms@mit.edu will
automatically be sent to everyone on the list. Because of this, I
ask that you refrain from posting things like "Make $50,000 in a
month!" and other messages that have absolutely nothing to do with
    Soundgarden.

4. I will be archiving all email that is sent to the list and putting
it on the Web page so anyone can refer to it later.

That's all for now.

Enjoy.

Huh? Trippy sounding songs? That was real metal back then...Chris hadn't
quite built his voice to it's fullest potential, but they still rocked hard
and Hiro was with them. Although, on the topic of Hiro, I must say that he
was good, but I don't really miss him all that much. Ben Shepard is really
good, I especially liked Jesus Christ Pose and Slaves and Bulldozers...the
bass sounded great!!!

I know this sounds crazy, but I really do think I read this somewhere.
Someone on the newsgroup told me he worked doing grunt work for the place
that makes Muzak. But I read somewhere that he actually used to do the music.
Is the heat getting to me, and I'm just imagining this? Or is this true?

LOUDER THAN LOVE - yep, got it. I also have Loudest Love, which
is the Japnese one. Not quite a full album, but has heretic, fresh
deadly roses and a new version of Big Dumb Sex and some others. What
about Screaming Life/FLOPP and Ultra Mega ok? Nobody has metioned those
yet.

Favorite Songs:
Louder Than Love -
	Full On
	Uncovered

Badmotorfinger -
	Rusty Cage
	Face Pollution
	Drawing Flies

Superunknown -
	Spoonman
	Kickstand

Well, I don't know for sure, but I doubt it. Remember, Badmotorfinger was
1991, and Superunknown was 1994. That's three years, and Soundgarden hasn't
had any time off yet
> What are your favorites songs off of each album...
Screaming Life-Hunted Down, Entering, Hand of God
Fopp-Fopp
UltramegaOK-Don't have it :(
Louder Than Love-Ugly Truth, Gun, Full On Kev's Mom, No Wrong No Right, Big
Dumb Sex
Badmotorfinger-Rusty Cage, Jesus Christ Pose, Room a Thousand Years Wide,
Drawing Flies, Holy Water, New Damage
Superunknown-Let Me Drown, Fell On Black Days, Superunknown, Head Down, Limo
Wreck, Fresh Tendrils, The Day I tried to Live, 4th Of July, Like Suicide.

My Favorite Album is either Badmotorfinger or Louder Than Love.

Anybody know of a really good bootleg?

I agree... the whole feel of Louder than Love (and Loudest Love, the
Japanese import from about the same time) have some of their songs with a
definite "feel." Trippy works I guess, but I say that it is a simply a
great album...

not special. Ben has added a really good bass sound to the group,

I am currently looking for a copy of Loudest Love. If anyone has a

Hi there! (people of the list)

I recieved a letter from someone recently who suggested that we/I start up a
SG trading/collecting group.

Well....Let's do it!

email me your lists and I'll get you in touch with people who have similar
lists. (I dont think people interested in trading boots are interested in
just trading singles....).

What I'll do is compile your lists (try to keep them small...no 15 page
lists!) and shoot them out to everyone else. does this sound allright?
email me if you have an suggestions.

>What are your favorites songs off of each album...

Screaming Life: nothing to say, hunted down
Fopp: Kingdom of Come
UltraMega OK: Flower, All your lies, beyond the wheel, nazi driver
LtLove: Ugly Truth, Hands all over, I Awake, BDSex, Full on (reprise)
Badmofi: every song on the album especially JCPose
SOMMS: everything
Superunknown: everything except half...but the live version of half is
killer!

non-LP tracks: No attention, kyle petty son of richard, missing,
fluttergirl, spoonman (SF remix), BDS (remix), etc. etc. etc.

there! I've cluttered your mailboxes enough....

Ah! Your kidding! Hiro was a god! I personally love his arrangements!
Check out the new Truly album "Fast Stories...from Kid Coma"...Hiro is quite
an arranger!

Ben is an excellent bassist. More beatle influenced than Hiro ever will be.
Hence SG's path into more mainstream-acceptable pop hard rock. (see
Superunknown: especially the song "she likes surprises" and "Black Hole
Sun")

I think the general concensus would be Jason "I want to be an airborn ranger"
Everman was the SG bassist that really wasnt that special.

According to people in the newsgroup...his only studio contribution was
playing on the beatles cover "Come Together"

Hiro - too hip to breathe ;-)

Hello all,
Kinda confused about the trading/collecting list..
is it what we own or what we wanted to trade? Or what is released?

Thanks,
John
